The Climate Policy Council has an office with five full-time employees to support the work of evaluating whether the government's overall policy leads to the climate goals. The office shares premises with the Swedish Research Council Formas, which is the Climate Policy Council's host authority.
Ola Alterå, Chief Executive
Ola Alterå was appointed Head of Secretariat in October 2017. He has extensive experience in climate, energy and sustainability issues from industry, politics and government. He has previously served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Industry and Economic Affairs.

Stina Jansson, Senior Analyst
Stina Jansson is a biologist and comes most recently from the European Commission. At the Directorate-General for Climate Change, Stina has worked with the development of climate policy and the follow-up of Member States’ climate targets and measures for the forestry and agricultural sectors.

Mattias Tegnander, Senior Analyst
Mattias Tegnander is an economist with ten years’ experience in consulting, specialising in socio-economic analyses of policy, regulation and investment, particularly in relation to the climate transition of society and industry.

Kajsa Nåtby, Senior Analyst
Kajsa Nåtbyt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and an interdisciplinary Master’s degree in Climate Policy. Prior to joining the Secretariat, she spent seven years in the Swedish Government Offices, serving at the Ministry of the Environment, the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise, and the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Her work focused primarily on UN climate negotiations, international climate finance, and climate diplomacy. She has also worked at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) and with sustainability issues in the Swedish banking sector.

Anna Volckerts, Senior Project Manager Panorama
Anna Volckerts has an M.Sc. in international business administration plus degrees in journalism and sustainable development. She has extensive experience in the climate and sustainability field and has previously held roles as sustainability consultant, coordinator and communications professional in the private, non-profit and public sectors.
Panorama (panorama-sverige.se) is an on-line platform that gathers and visualises information about Sweden’s climate transition. The platform is jointly managed by the Swedish Climate Policy Council, the Environmental Protection Agency and the Energy Agency.

Joel Hellman, Intern
Joel Hellman is an intern at the Secretariat during the autumn semester of 2026 as part of his studies in the Master’s Programme in Complex Adaptive Systems at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. The master’s programme forms part of his Master of Science in Engineering degree in Global Systems. The programme teaches students to take a systems perspective on local and global challenges and to understand how these interact with society, technology, and the natural environment.
