Professor of Meteorology at Uppsala University

Anna Rutgersson is Professor Meteorology at Uppsala University. Her research focuses mainly on understanding of processes in the climate system, focusing on the interaction between oceans and the atmosphere. The research is based on observations in marine environments and climate modelling with the purpose of understanding turbulent boundary layers in the marine atmosphere. This research is relevant for extreme weather in the coastal zone, off-shore wind energy, the role of the oceans in the carbon cycle and shipping emissions.

Anna Rutgersson is a member of the Royal Academy of Sciences (KVA) and The NT-council of the Swedish Research Council.
