Maria Pettersson is Professor of Environmental and Natural Resource Law at Luleå University of Technology. Her research is in the field of environmental and natural resource law and deals with the role of law in relation to the management and use of natural resources. The research is therefore often about the legal prerequisites for various activities, such as wind power or mineral extraction. More recently, her research has increasingly focused on permitting of industrial activities and different types of environmental requirements and conditions for permits, including the implementation and use of limit values and standards, as well as issues of appropriateness in this regard.

Report launch 2026 – save the date!

On March 19th, the Swedish Climate Policy Council presents its annual report at an in-person and web-broadcast seminar (in Swedish). The report contains the Council’s assessment of the Government’s overall policy with regard to the climate targets and recommendations ahead of the next electoral term.
