Åsa Persson is the Research Director and Deputy CEO of the Stockholm Environment Institute, as well as an Associate Professor in Environmental Change. Her research focuses on the interplay between international and national policies for climate and sustainability. Her earlier research has addressed the choice of policy instruments, coherence in environmental policy, and international politics on climate adaptation, planetary boundaries, and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. She has undertaken several UN assignments, including serving as a lead author of the Global Sustainable Development Report 2023 and currently as a member of the UN Committee for Development Policy.
