Filip Johnsson is Professor of Energy Systems at Chalmers University of Technology. His research focuses mainly on how the energy system can be transformed to meet climate goals. Filip Johnsson is also studying how different industries can reduce their carbon dioxide emissions along their entire value chains, for example from cement to a building.He also has many years of experience in research on various aspects of carbon capture (CCS) technology. Filip Johnsson is a member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences (IVA) and is a member of the research council for Västra Götaland’s climate transition. He has a background in combustion technology, with a focus on biomass combustion with fluidized bed technology.

Report launch 2026 – save the date!

On March 19th, the Swedish Climate Policy Council presents its annual report at an in-person and web-broadcast seminar (in Swedish). The report contains the Council’s assessment of the Government’s overall policy with regard to the climate targets and recommendations ahead of the next electoral term.
